Nintendo doesn’t report digital only titles. Fortnite alone probably downloaded 100 milllion times. Sony in fact does also include free ps plus download as ”sales”.
Horizon, Uncharted, Bloodborne, most recently Death Stranding sales are all inflated.
PS2 only had such high sales because it had a higher failure rate than the 360 except Sony refused to acknowledge this and didn't honor the warranty leading to most people having to buy replacements multiple times. If you lived in California you were lucky because there was a class action lawsuit there over the incredibly poor build quality of the PS2 and the insane repair fees Sony used to charge people. Sony lost the lawsuit and had to reimburse everyone in California they charged repair fee.

There was well over a dozen hardware revisions for the PS2. That wasn't because it was a great product. Sony desperately tried for years to make something that didn't suck and failed over and over and over again.
