>Avalanche apparently risked their lives infiltrating and assaulting Mako Reactor 1 to place a bomb that does less damage than a molotov cocktail
>To make things even funnier 7R introduces that Barrets cell is considered too radical and unhinged
LMFAO such absolute garbage revisionism

And it will be defended to the death by people who would have loved it no matter what. All they want is more time with the characters. It doesn't matter if it's tedious, boring, nonsensical, badly written, insulting to your intelligence, utter trash. You could make a 100 hour game set in Seventh Heaven and they'd like it, because they get more time with the characters. At some point they became obsessed with the characters, but don't actually care about the story or the game they're in.
Is AC good? No, but it gives us more time with the characters, so they like it.
Is BC good? No, but it gives us more time with the characters, so they like it.
Is CC good? No, but it gives us more time with the characters, so they like it.
Is DoC good? No, but it gives us more time with the characters, so they like it.
Is 7R good? No, but it gives us more time with the characters, so they like it.

They were called radical because Avalanche was funded by Rufus as a controlled op to subvert his father. They broke away from that which was going off the script.

I stopped caring when Crisis Core turned Zack's death into some heroic last stand against impossible odds. In the original game he was just optimistic and naive and was put down like a wild dog by the first security patrol he came across on the outskirts of midgar. It was far more bleak and heartbreaking watching it play out. It felt like an utter betrayal when they robbed the character of such a tragic death and turned him into a hero.

The fuck are you talking about, retard? Barret cell is considered radical because they want to bomb shit and they dont care about collateral damage.
>b-b-but the bomb was shit!
Yeah, barret and party are incompetent and they are just tools to shinra. And the intention was to fully bomb it and not care about any casualties.

The original FF7 had soul, it wasn’t trying to make every scene this super epic moment and you can see that in how everything plays out.

The big Midgar Zolom being a tough optional boss is a great example, in FF7 you have to get a chocobo to avoid it and if you don’t, it beats your fuckin ass. If you tun away, you’re back on the green so you can’t cheese it easily. Making a trip across without the Chocobo felt cooler because it clearly had enough space to feel intentional. Afterwards, you were met with a graphic of the Zolom fucking skewered on a tree, giving a good idea of how powerful Sephiroth is.

FF7R ruins it by having the Zolom being a boss you fight and can defeat easily, making it a forgettable experience. Who gives a shit that Sephiroth beat it, we were able to too. And when you kill it, it launches and lands on the tree in the way the OG game had it.

Lmao what a fucking joke

Modern games are all afraid of “Game Over” screens and difficulty. I don’t think there’s even a game over in 7R, doesn’t it just ask to load a save or restart the battle?

Lmao I had the same thing happen. ONE character survived the Beta, then I get wrecked immediately. Like the guy said though, that made a huge impact. It’s also a really original design for a puzzle in an RPG

Crisis Core and 7R are fucking great, if not from a story perspective then from a gameplay one.

devs are too afraid of every single person not experiencing the exact same thing now, which kind of kills the point of it being a video game. instead of a movie.

Too bad they are roleplaying games and not arcade games where you can mostly write out the story as a joke.
