I hate every single extraction shooter that exists other than hunt, I've tried a lot. Tarkov is fucking abismal, arena breakout is slightly better but its still shit. Tried also DMZ for the "modern warfare 2" and the shit for delta force but they all feel so frustratingly boring. Hunt is the only game where losing your whole loadout and character feels like a whatever situation.
But honestly, hunt would be boring as fuck if it'd be a horde shooter game. Whenever we clear the server it makes the game feel extremely easy.

For long range I'd say Centennial. It has very good muzzle velocity, good cycle time and doesn't cost too much.
For close range the Rival. It has high spread and the highest cycle time of any shotgun. So it is pretty forgiving for new players while still allowing for a a ton of mastery for experienced players.
Pax Trueshot is a great addition to a shotgun loadout and LeMat is great for rifles because you still get one buckshot shot in your loadout.

You basically need high firerate for fmj to be a threat. So it's Winnie levering, a fanning pistol (fanning sucks in the current meta), Cyclone or Marathon. 3.5 loadout options to play.

Depends on your playstyle and how good your aim is.
In the beginning you want to stick with single loadout to get better idea how to lead your shots.
Avoid single shot riffles because those require very good aim and swapping to your sidearm unless you hit your headshots.
Shotguns are very good right now, but you need good reflex to not die to other shotguns.
Grab a friend and practice at the shooting range, this will improve your aim much faster than simply playing.

There are also skins you can unlock by different means, prestige, getting certain hunters to level 50 or even from dark tribute.

Character skins can always be applied to a hunter of at least tier 2. When you buy a gun, you can apply the skin for free. If someone kills you, they can loot the gun with that skin and keep it until they die.
In short, you don't lose skins permanently.

You keep them forever, even if you prestige. You either get a free hunter or you pay 100 hunt dollars to recruit one, which then has 10 upgrade points to spend on perks.
This second option is always better unless you are ultra broke because you can just unequip the stuff from the free hunters and use them on the 100 dollar ones with perks.
When you buy a hunter for 100 dollars you can pick any skin you own.

If you buy skins you can just hire them again for hunt dollars whenever they die. Weapon skins are free you just need to buy a gun and apply the skin.
Economy is really not much of an issue nowadays because of how they balanced the game, you don't really go broke unless you overspend, and there are a lot of options for cheap guns that works just as well as the expensive ones.

The economy is just there to stop people from going in with the most expensive loadouts all the time, which isn't really a big deal because you can have a lot of fun with some of the cheapest weapons. It only somewhat matters if you like to prestige at max level, which also resets your money.

Unironically too much content. You used to be able to figure out what weapons/perks someone had by the gunshots and how they played. Now there's so many ammo types and niche perks you have no idea what anyone has until you either kill them and loot their body or die.

Solo really is in a rough spot right now. You usually have to play twice as good as your enemies to have a winning match.
Solo players are super easy to identify. Whenever my trio suspects someone of being solo we coordinate each other, give a count down over discord and then bumrush that poor guy from 3 different angles.

No that is still a thing. You can face duos if you like, but I wouldn't recommend it. The MMR of those duos will be much higher than the trios and you'll get ambushed way more because there are more teams on the map.
You also earn more money and exp from playing against trios, but thats less important.

More likely that you headshot one guy and then get jumped on from behind by another team so you can't close out the first fight.
Duo queue will always have a higher number of enemy teams. Trio queue is just a lot more predictable, which is important for solo gameplay.
Feel free to try out both, it's just my experience that trios are easier.

Was it? Circus theme was cool but the circus was nothing more than a glorified resupply point, didn't really have a reason to go to the circus because bear is annoying + not really a fun place to fight against other players.
For a roaming boss update Rotjaw was way better as it actually gave you bounty, scary as fuck to PvP as he's in an open grassy area (shakes things up from fighting in compound too), and figuring out how to dodge his attacks were fun.
I wouldn't say it was terrible but adding Post Malone to that brought my engagement with that event down to zero.

It would've been spooky if they only spawned during night (in a dark place instead of brightly lit tent), but I got used to punching them in a day-time that I don't think it'd have the same effect even if they did it now.

I gotta disagree hard on Rotjaw. Completely unfun gimmicky fight. Not worth the bounty and potentially getting jumped while fighting him unless you already wiped the map. Even then, not even worth the run unless he's on the way to the exit.
Rotjaw is a super common spawn right now and maybe 1 out of 10 games with him I see someone kill him and grab the bounty. It's just not worth the risk and not even remotely fun to do.
The giga immolator is a significantly better iteration on the concept and it's reflected in people actually consistently bothering to kill him.

Shit is always so chaotic, when all the teams on the map are fighting it still feels fair because everyone is a total opportunistic faggot that can't help himself to shit on someone's table even if it doesn't directly benefits him
Game encouraging being a leeching nigger so much the best playstyle for solo is simply to wait before most of the teams shoot each other and just kill the victor, who is likely out of resources
Also the lack of genuinely broken weapons, there is probably only two ways to wipe a team within a time period they can't really fight back
It is either to blow the all up, which requires perfect conditions that are unlikely to happen, or to simply gun them down with mosin auto (which is a total nigger weapon)
Just headshotting everyone with nagant carbine or slam fire with crown&king or terminus requires so much setup and you still don't have a 100% chance to do that and have to be aim god
Let alone weapons that simply don't have enough bullets in magazine to deal with 3 people at once
In tarkov or cod or siege you could spray people to death pretty easily if you get behind them, it's hard to react to that
