Remake: audio and visuals entirely redone, but the structure is untouched, except minor continuity errors or other minor fixes
Remaster: essentially a really thorough spit shine, maybe replacing or adding a minor detail or two
Reboot: "eh, we'll keep some of the major details the same, but let's make some fucking omelettes!!"
It was a reboot, arguably time-fuckery sequel from the beginning, not a "remake" in any agreed upon sense. It was a marketing ploy to lure in under informed consumers, which is why they were so quick to brag about remake sales, but haven't said shit about rebirth sales.
