I played the game without having a clue what the series is about and it held up fine. It was a little baffling whenever characters showed up without much if any introduction but the gameplay is solid. I'd say the only real complaint is the same as for every other Team Ladybug game, they're clearly just a glorified doujin circle because they don't have enough resources or manpower to put enough meat into their games, it's too short, the game map is kind of barebones for a Metroidvania and they're honestly aren't many interesting weapons, leasst of all cool endgame ones. Everything else is rock solid though.

Yeah I'm on chapter 3 now after beating Shooting Star and so far it's okay it's just kind of awkward to juggle your 2 forms in battle but they're piss easy so it's not like it matters since i haven't died to anything yet.
Yeah the map is literally just hallways with nothing there, it's like very barebones nu-vania type map where all you have is save/teleport/shop and nothing else hidden, all powerups are just in plain sight behind progression locked doors.
The visuals are really all it has going for it, ladybug should just make art and animations for other people's games.

i got this game during the last sale and i really liked it. Never watched record of lodoss war before playing it. Pixel art and music obviously the highlight. The whole game is built around switching between orange and blue power for magic and absorbing attacks. Its very short and simple but its fun for what it is

I wish Team Ladybug would actually expand on a game instead of just moving along to the next 3-4 hour adventure. I tried the Bladechimera demo and got about 25% map completion about an hour, so I didn't even consider buying it right away.
Real shame too because the games are good, just too damn short.

I played the game before watching the OVA (was a big fan of the TV series though) so all the fanservicey little leitmotifs completely went over my head. I still think of the ED to the OVA as "that song from the video game".

I absolutely loved Luna Nights. Great graphics, amazing boss fights, some of the best touhou remixes I've heard. Haven't played this yet, though.

The anime/ova isnt good. It is either rushed as shit or has the production value of shit. I had to ask people what the fuck is going on at times because it skips so much in the ova.
