>>716408162Their web season (was it 1.2? or w/e?) was a success though. They got 150k concurrent players. Primarily, however, they benefitted from the lowest that PoE1 and 2 have ever been. PoE1 still had not had any updates for a year, and PoE2 was currently being called the ruthless, no loot game after 0.2
LE's biggest problem is that it is a game that showers you with so much loot and power creep that it is boring. The only piece of "hard" content is Uber Abberoth that is hard due to an inflated HP pool and damage numbers, not interesting mechanics or build requirements.
I thought the Webs league was fun enough, but they need to tone down the loot and add more than just him. They need more mapping content (which the web system did help). But yeah, I dunno. They were really happy with the success of this league, seems weird to sell out then but maybe that is why they did?
>Release at the perfect time to get the most possible players>Use the sales of the game/cosmetics to look for someone to buy you out using the inflated metrics>Get a much better deal/more funding than you really should because of itPotentially brilliant on their part, potentially disastrous. If GGG sticks to the PoE1 and PoE2 content updates every 4 months each (so 2 months between them) then I don't think there is room for LE.
