>>716415610I don't hate myself but I'm a writer and I play tabletop RPGs all the time. I could make myself but honestly it's way more fun for me to come up with different characters, possible backstories, and mess with the character creator to make some cool effects. It's not as creatively stimulating for me to just make myself. I do multiple playthroughs anyway to play different builds and get different endings. I will say that some of my custom characters are more me than others. Though a lot of people are uncomfortable playing as a woman but I'm perfectly fine doing it, either from GMing or writing from their perspective, I rarely imagine myself as my character. To me my RPG character is more akin to Dante or Solid Snake instead of me. A lot of people don't think of their RPG characters the same way. Like, I play Fallout New Vegas I'll do a pro-NCR cowboy type of build themed after Django after Django unchained. I'll do a science based build for siding with house, I'll do a typical tribal themed melee build for the legion, and and I'll do a charisma build for a free vegas, following it with a high strength, endurance, and intelligence build themed around a chainsaw wielding serial killer designed to get the worst possible ending in the game and every quest. So even if I play as a female it might me 45%-25% of the time with most of my characters being men.
