Is there any risk in buying the tray version of a CPU instead of the box one? I already have a CPU Cooler w/ Thermal Paste and the store offers me a 2-year warranty. It's 20-30 euros cheaper than boxed

It's the exact same thing, just without the box and possibly cooler (some ryzens come with one, some don't). Tray version is almost always the one to get, like in your case. Have some boobs too since I'm feeling magnanimous.

most people selling tray versions have ship it with lots of bubble wrap if you're just afraid of it being crushed mid-transit

also depending on the type of cpu you have, you dont get the stock cooler but im willing to bet you're not going to use it anyway

not really, as long as you buy from a reputable seller
i've heard things about tray versions before worse binned than regular retail version, but that sounds like a myth, why would amd undermine oem like that
