So the GameCube and Xbox version are actually a completely different development team from the PS2 version. You had two teams making the same exact game independently of each other. This blew my fucking mind. It was such a a retarded waste of time and money to do it this way and the Xbox GameCube team wanted to kill themselves the whole time because they were crunched hard

Are all the "Harry Potter and x" games worth playing or should I just stick to the first 3 games?

Not that anon but all I know is that you can't freely explore the school grounds in the GC version, you just get teleported around, which sucked ass. Other than that they're pretty much the same game aside from having slightly higher quality models than the PS2.

I've been playing through them in order with the sixth Gen versions of the first three games. I plan to go back and play the other versions too because I hear they're better. Anyways, I've gone through 5 at this point. 4 is objectively a low effort piece of shit game. It's pretty short and you can 100% it all in the same day so that's probably the best thing it has going on. 5 was a big improvement. They realized everybody wants to go to Hogwarts and run around. The problem is, they clearly didn't have enough money to work on anything else, so all of the gameplay is pretty bad. And as a sidenote, I don't recommend the Wii version. The game was designed for Wii and motion controls and was ported to everything else. The motion controls aren't worth shit.

you could fly around the castle grounds and lake with the broom in a freeroam, unironically way better than that shitty game they released like 2 years ago

Like the other guy said, you can't explore the castle grounds on Xbox GameCube. Clearly what happened was that dev team thought walking around an empty over world was boring and tedious, so they just made it so you warp around when you walk towards an area. They did create a full castle grounds though, and they are not exactly the same as on ps2. Different teams made those. Apart from that, the game uses a completely different engine. The platforming on Xbox cube is janky compared to the PS2 version. Hufflepuff is purple instead of yellow on Xbox GameCube. You can tell these teams were given the same design docs and some assets, but overall, these are different versions of the game. The PS2 version has different models all over the place and generally looks better. Overall the PS2 version is the way to go with the second game. When they went back and made sixth Gen Harry Potter 1, they used the PS2 version of 2 as the base for the PS2 and GameCube version of the previous movie.
