What the fuck was up with that giant shaft where you can just jump down like a faggot from 2000 feet and not carry on any damage? were there supposed to be insta-kill walls of sentry guns keeping you from just yolo jumping into it but they removed it due to difficulty?
Was the Alien originally supposed to take fall damage?

It's impressive how out of touch and stubborn today's devs are that they take a game and instead of trying to copy existing content they already have available (the movies) they'd rather fuck it up with their stubborn "my way or the highway" and then cry and bitch and moan that everyone hates them. Colonial Marines. Fireteam Elite, etc.
Monolith knew their place and bothered copying Aliens/Hadley's Hope correctly, every beat you get in the marine campaign is appropriate to a horror movie. They even bothered copying the facehugger and even the chestburster despite the chestburster not having great gameplay and it's a poorly done stealth section compared to the predator's cloaking.

You guys got any posts to make about the fact everyone considers the Alien campaigns the weakest? What do you anons have to say about that?

The reasons people hate Colonial Marines has nothing to do with it departing from the movies. If anything, it sticks closer to the movies than AVP2 did. It literally has Hicks in it and takes place in the same fucking locations. The problem is its just a really incompetently made game.
AVP2 borrows a lot more from the old comics than it does from the movies.

Specifically for AVP2 or across all games? I found them the most fun cause of your weapons and higher stats than the alien & marine. It's like playing The Alien but with proper stealth facing off the humans and as The Marine in terms of mowind down a huge amount of aliens mindlessly without even looking since you have an autotargeting system.

I imagine they looked very much the same as in AVP1 and 2. I believe they first appeared in Aliens: Rogue, which I can't find a picture for, but shortly after that they appear in the AVP beat em up arcade game and other than color basically look the same as they would years later in AVP1.

only AVP2. i only played as the predator once years ago and i dint like it as much as the alien and marine one. tho the marine campaign wasn't perfect either tbf, the second you get the smart gun all tension disperses.
