I don’t see how that’d be possible considering the game’s main problems besides the combat were the atrociously bland plot, setting, and pacing. They made the forest world like 3x longer than all the others and I don’t blame people for stopping there because it’s just not worth going through after that. The only good thing about Sticker Star was the end-of-chapter music

I dont know why they'd bother trying to reshape SS to be good instead of just making a romhack of PM64, TTYD, or making their own game. They're basically starting from scratch anyway
The specific desire of modding the hell out of a 3ds game seems way too narrow to justify bothering with this.

Seems interesting to try and salvage something from Sticker Star, but at that point, you might as well just use TTYD or the original as a base like the other anons are saying
or hell, just make your own game entirely like Fug Bables or Escape From Everafter

I'll play devils advocate and say that as an exploration and puzzles game, sticker star is quite solid, an ok 6/10 at best.

So it's shit. Sticker star is inherently shit at its core because of the sticker system. Making Mario's basic jump and hammer non-consumable doesn't actually fix anything. It doesn't look like there will be FP, and if there's no badges to equip new moves what's the point of getting experience aside from more HP? Since the HP bar of the enemies on screen is still lumped together into one giant HP bar means you won't know how much HP an enemy has remaining if there are different enemies in the battle. Jumps being reduced to 1 extra bounce instead of 4 actually hurts the sticker star formula since enemies were designed with that much damage output in mind, and it doesn't look like the values were updated. A regular goomba should not have 5 HP when you do 2 with your basic attack. Things are still in this, so bosses will still most likely still be "use the thing and make the boss a cakewalk or suffer." Moving the battle roulette to a special gauge makes battles take longer as well (and you're still paying coins to increase the odds of hitting a good result). Since only jumps were shown I can only speculate that all action commands are press/mash A instead of unique ones like holding back with the hammer for example.
This seems like a mod from someone who heard about what was good about PM64 and TTYD, and only thought to implement the basic elements without taking the time to think about how all the systems of a game need to click together to make it fun. Shit, imaging playing TTYD but BP didn't exist? The game would be a lot less fun.
