Gacha games make more money with less investment

Also i'm not exaggerating when i say the maker of that tierlist should commit suicide

They always sucked and were just chatrooms for nerds, now that all chatrooms are for nerds they are superfluous.

Turns out most people don't like to pay monthly for a single game once they have gotten what they wanted from it even if they don't play it, so the company doesn't get money to make expansions and without new content the ones left leave the game

WoW was mainstream once and you never lowered your expectations back to a normal level again. Every MMO that doesn't have millions of active players is considered a failure now.

how come MMOs release in early access now, where people play an unfinished game for years in advance before the actual launch? it ruins the launch experience

I play sandbox MMOs that you would only consider dead and abandoned. I don't care about themepark WoW clones.

OP hasn't played any of these, looked up a list of most famous MMOs and when they came out, and ordered them based on age and popularity. This is a journalist's tier list.

The only two top MMOs that people play are WoW and FFXIV.

This. Any content update in WoW invalidated everything up to that point. Leveling became an inconvenience or something to rush until "end game". Raids are okay, but having most content lock behind instances doesn't make sense for a supposedly social game.

Plus during, and after wotlk, actiblizz started honing in on the candy crush/facebook game mom demographic for whatever fucking reason and neglected the core audience (which was never end game raiders, btw). The game is now designed for a weird type of socially retarded person that will have a literal panic attack if someone sends them a random group invite.

Yet they'll spend more on gacha and they put significantly more hours into them than even the most autistic poopsocking MMO player.
