Nobody who played 2016 actually believes this lol. Doomguy is arguably at his weakest ever in 2016 in terms of gameplay power, you're just awkwardly hopping around and happily coasting because there aren't more than 3-4 major demons allowed to spawn at the same time. Doomguy from TDA can fight 10x more demons than 2015 doomguy.

I played it on goypass. There was some deal about paying 2 bucks to unlock gamepass for 14 days, paid it to play TDA then cancelled it.
