Given that, is it criminal for me not to play Avowed?
I didn't play Outer Worlds either, and if it's just "which mid Obsidian game do you want to dump 50 hours into?" then I'll go neither, but I'd pick Outer Worlds first.

It's understandable. It's a casualized first person barely-RPG with really bad dialogue (Way worse than Deadfire). I still liked it, though. I thought the world building was as kino as the previous games and the exploration with the visuals is genuinely fun. Outer Worlds is uneven and becomes shit after the first area. Avowed is much better.
