The AAA and especially western AAA gaming industry thought this old business man was seething when he said that games shouldn't chase graphics and should instead focus on gameplay as the short term gains will kill long term sustainability as the costs would increase to a point where 1 million copies sold wouldn't be enough to break even.
Now look at the current state of the industry $200m+ as a budget, games selling 3 million copies being called flops by the companies, devs being closed down to cut costs.
All of this could've been avoided if the industry had listened to a man that understood long-term sustainability was far more important than LINE GO UP QUICKLY.

I'm just happy older Sony franchises will likely find new life on PC and Switch. Stuff like Ape Escape, Sly Cooper, Loco Roco, Jak and Daxter, etc. will likely do better with audiences outside of the one Sony's been cultivating since the PS3 era with Uncharted and The Last of Us.

>Apple was a joke back then.
Was this near-bankruptcy-era Apple? I know that the AIM (Apple IBM Motorola) alliance was around this time. According to wikipedia, I am wrong, Pippin was designed and sold by Apple, and they gave the design to Bandai to manufacture. Same thing with AIM. IBM and Motorola came up with the hardware, and Apple sold the machines.

Bandai tried some funny bussiness with lock-on technology. They sold a SuFami lock-out key on a seperate piece of hardware, and then released a few games for this add-on. This way Bandai didnt have to pay Nintendo for the liscene to use the lock-out key.

Did you know Hiroshi Yamauchi wasn't actually a human being? He was a vessel that enclosed 7 yakuza oni spirits from 7 different regions in Japan. These oni monopolized the gambling in Japan with the hanafuda Nintendo cards and put a spell so that no other company could produce cards, truly evil.

Yamauchi, often referred to as "大魔王 ティラノ天堂" (Great Evil King Tyranotendo), tyranized the video games market with his monopolic practises, it is said that the Master System or the PC Engine didn't actually ever exist, and that they were invented time after so hide the fact that the Famicom was actually the one and only console existing in Japan.

He didn't develop or even play games like Iwata, and didn't go off muh market research and letting developers do whatever they want like the current president Furukawa, yet he instinctively knew what audiences would like and made Nintendo the household name it is today. What a chad.

It's over, Sony and Microsoft been telling their fanboys they no longer needed them for a while. These guys will most likely drop off from gaming thus it'll become a fun niche hobby again like it was during the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s just now with Nintendo owning consoles and Valve owning PCs.

Except the retards and normies and fags and such need to be violently punted out of the gaming industry, for NoA/Troonhouse to be purged and restructured and the aforementioned to be banished and perma'd from ever being hired at NoA ever the fuck again.

Based Yamauchi wasn’t just a businessman, he was literally an artifact of ancient Nipponese mythos. You ever wonder why Nintendo had an iron grip on developers back in the day? It wasn’t just contracts-those were binding blood pacts etched in kanji flame and sealed with cursed hanafuda ink. Master System and PC Engine? Elaborate illusions crafted by rival warlocks to gaslight the masses. The merging of 7 oni power cores explains the NES Zapper’s unnatural accuracy too. This man might’ve stepped down, but his spirit still lingers in every Joy-Con drift.

lmao imagine being the company that bet everything on exclusivity with a hardware giant that's now bleeding into PC and mobile. Square spent years trying to crawl back to relevancy after ditching Nintendo, only to be stuck making "cinematic experiences" that flop harder than a Vagrant Story remaster. Yamauchi probably spat on their FFVII disc before sending it back with a hanafuda card wrapped around it.

Yup, hell people said that Valve would change after Gabe but Gabe himself said he's retired and Valve is still the same, sometimes you need a boss that knows how to run the company and keeps things the way they should be when he leaves.
