Monster Hunter. The PS2 games specifically focus on being a sort of hunting simulation gameplay wise, but almost all of them (except the ones made for handheld console) try to make the focus on hunting fictional animals rather than just vidya bosses

Long Dark. Though while bears can fuck you up, Moose are more annoying because they have a higher chance of breaking your ribs which reduces your carry capacity and make you unable to climb. And unlike Bears, they won't bleed out after getting shot, you have to actively take them out with multiple shots or get a good headshot in.

TLD bears are also afraid of campfires so you can safely hunt them. They only 100% safe defense against a moose is a flare gun and shells are very limited.

The bear was in a sort of "bear jail" for getting too close to people.
TL;DR, he didn't eat for a week and had a remarkably shit time, and is likely very angry about this.
Usually this is only done with polar bears since they're absolutely unhinged killing machines that will hunt people, but seems they're using it on ursa negrous now too.
