It was the only game of it's kind at the time so people just tolerated it.

Unironically, this is why I couldn't be assed about being a Minecraft fan because a game that requires looking up and doesn't supply the knowledge/all you need in game is a shit game

With Minecraft it was acceptable because it was in development and indie

You realize there was a painting with the portal layout right? It was obvious. You were just stupid.

this is why they put ruined portals in the game and made them spawn every 20 feet

Are we pretending that the average person can reasonably intuit from looking at a ruined portal that they can progress the game by building something O shaped out of obsidian and lighting it

most people don't even play minecraft, they just watch their favorite streamer's playthrough

They added the crafting guide that unlocks recipes whenever you get at least one of its components, but I don't think it really helped
Like, how are you supposed to figure out how each of the redstone components work in-game? It's not like comparators and repeaters look similar to real-life logic circuits, plus there's strange behaviors related to how signals travel across blocks that aren't obvious

>the average person
The average person is a retard.
Any gamer can figure it out.

Games should never have become mainstream entertainment. Normalfags are insufferable retards.

It's funny because the game was clearly flawed when you needed a wiki to understand even the basics

But stuff like the ruined portal spam >>716459789 and that stupid ass book in the crafting menu made the game significantly worse

Am I just impossible to please? I feel like a tutorial or something would've been better than the crap we got

P.S. loot chests in biomes is just shit design in general imo
