Those games are worshiped by 20 year olds that weren't even alive when they came out, but they say they play those games for FGC internet cred.
At most they watched ebin EVO clips, but very few people actually play them.

20 to 30 year olds like them because 1 theyre nice to look at but 2, theyre also old enough where you dont have to deal with the no child gets left behind retard gameplay of modern fighters, but new enough that you can still dash and super jump and theres no throw loops. And for some reason, zoomers absolutely hate zoning. Zoomers also think that alex and urien dudley etc are cool and that the sf2 characters are bland stereotypes.

Mark of the Wolves is a sheer meme. Real players are more likely to name Real Bout 2 when it comes to Fatal Fury, and Mark just gets named for people looking for kudos despite being not as good as its peers like how Darkstalkers is objectively worse than MSHvSF and MvC1

SF3 just got boosted by not just the Evo Moment bullshit that's massively overhyped, but also the fact that it was made readily available for a while. Third Strike Online Edition was considered the gold standard for arcade ports for a while, especially since its implementation of rollback via GGPO was much more publicized than other XBLA Capcom games, and it was the defacto face of Fightcade. That being said, it's a good game; it just holds more regard than it should because it's more exposed than Alpha 2.

I like motw more than most other snk games because it felt easier to pick up, coming from street fighter. Kof seems harder and learning 3 dudes seems annoying, im not into the samurai vibe in samsho and last blade, aof is too wacky and classic fatal fursy has that foreground background shit going on right?

Garou isn't, no one plays it. A lot of old fgc types like 3S though. Casuals did not and nearly killed the series but many people really into fighting games liked it a lot.

Msh vs sf is just xmen vs sf with different characters. Nothing bad about it, nothing special about it. Xmen vs sf was special because it was the beginning of mvc and tag games as we know them, mvc was special because of additions it made to the series like the new characters and assists. Msh vs sf meanwhile is just another capcom game.
