Am I taking crazy pills or is Terraria gameplay boring as fuck after you've played it once. I went through it blind and its kinda cool to find new shit, but cave exploration becomes extremely repetitive and boss fights are a joke if you do ANY prep for them.
Honestly I must be missing something cause pretty art and good music doesn't change shit gameplay.

the game goes to shit the moment you enter hardmode, its stop being about exploration and big gameplay changes about how you navigate the world and which utilities you have and starts being a retarded farmfest

if the game didnt need a wiki and had proper gameplay guidance in it + infinite world to explore + even deeper, it would have been much better

i think you played it wrong. first i have the music off so i can listen to something else, maybe a long youtube video. then you decide what class you play based on your initial chest loot

Terraria is replayable but I feel like this about Minecraft, like what's the point of continueing playing after you got diamonds in 4 minutes?

if i could remake terraria, id double down on its exploration elements and emphasis. to get lower into the earths crust you have to beat certain bosses or achieve certain milestones in certain biomes. like maybe 1 biome needs a certain kind of ore or whatever, to build the pickaxe or w/e for the next biome. that way there's more exploration of each biome instead of just digging straight down

there was something insanely addictive about the feeling of going deeper. me and my friend really wanted to see what the next biome would be. were blown away by the blue glowing mushroom biome. like it was so addictive we didnt sleep for 2 days lmao...when is the last time a game has ever done that? not since i was a kid

Taking away the sequence breaks are probably my biggest gripe with 1.4, I liked it when the game let you play however you wanted. Taking away choices just to slow down speed runners (1% of playerbase) is absolutely retarded.

that wasnt the objective of me reccomending that. the objective was to increase or have a reason to explore biomes more, rather than just dig down. once you hit the bottom the game instantly became much less compelling. after we found the hell biome at the bottom we pretty much werent inclined to play anymore

obviously to make up for that, you'd make the biomes more intricate, add more content for each biome, or even add more biomes

me and my friend also were kinda bummed there wasn't a heaven biome. like some kind of hidden biome as you build up into the sky would have been cool, eventually passing a certain threshold in space into like some kind of abstract astral realm. so much potential there

oh and for staying power, terraria definitely needs some kind of repeatability mode, something like "deadman" in oldschool runescape. obviously not that exact thing, but some similar kind of mode where there's "repeatability" e.g like league of legends where you start from scratch. once you explore all the biomes its going to get old. with this repeatability mode they could introduce new monsters to make each play more difficult, new weapons, balance changes. they could keep the game alive

replayability is a meme. The game is already around 100 hours long to get 100 percent of everything excluding the dumbass angler quest achievements. That is way way long enough for this sort of game. Play something else nigger there are infinite games worth playing out there
