Asset flips that sell well always do so on the basis of providing a different enough gameplay experience than the game/s they're sourcing their assets from. Mega normalfag franchises like FIFA, CoD, AssCreed etc can't even be called asset flips, they're practically the same game over and over.

We bought it to support FROMSOFT so they can continue to make the best games in the industry. Is nightreign amazing? No. Was it fun? Yes. Is there replayability? For most no but some are still playing. From was very open to it being a test game and building upon these for their next masterpiece.

COD (when I kept up with it) was constantly switching eras and doing gameplay gimmicks. The game's also felt different from one another (for better or worse, depends on the player) because different studios was helming them.
AssCreed is similar, especially after Unity killed old AC. Despite both games being yearly flops, neither has as much asset reuse as Fromsoft's games, surprisingly.
