>4chan is a simple image-based bulletin board where anyone can post comments and share images. There are boards dedicated to a variety of topics
Keyword is variety. Not just anime.

It is, and always has been, a containment board. It was literally created after news was first shut down and all the filth spread across the boards.

I would assume it's because a lot of the users there had the "wrong" opinions and were criticizing a (((certain))) group. Dunno though I never went there.

/pol/ is a containment board.
/v/ for example would have more far right chuds who spam off-topic threads than it already has.

It became illegal to have any opinion that doesn't gargle obama's ballsack on gamefaqs like a decade ago.
I'm gonna assume people there started to notice that maybe, just MAYBE democrats are the saviors of humanity that they're advertised to be and this needed to be suppressed at all costs.

Who is afraid to discuss politics? Politics are so ingrained in our lives I literally cannot escape them no matter where I go and who I talk to. Half of /v/ threads are about or closely related to politics. Every time something very bad happens it's blamed on politics. If a man speaks or a woman blinks - politics are involved. Some people are actually tired of politics and would prefer not to discuss politics at least for 5 minutes, but that's literally an impossibility if you are on the internet. Also both the left and right are retards. Mouth breathing teacup brained faggots and niggers who would improve the world only if they ate a handgun. There's no discussion to be had with room temperature IQ having insane asylum residents. Why can't you people look inward and solve your own problems in your own lives before discussing how the rest of the world needs to be governed?
