When did beating a game become the equivalent of a participation trophy?

It's an unnecessarily complicated tool for a simple job. Having a can opener with gears and shit is equivalent to the onions bottle opener. I just have a normal manual one.

>be boomer
>refuse to offer any advice or pass down knowledge to your progeny
I don’t know why they’re like this. Every single fucking thing I had to figure out myelf with zero assistance, shaving, jobs, friendships… other than going to college, which my parents threw down a ton of money but once again didn’t bother to offer any direction so I ended up with a useless meme degree.

It's significantly more convenient. It opens cans faster and the resulting cut is smoother.

Why didn't his parents or public school teachers teach him how to open a can?

This is the only can opener I've ever used, but I don't even remember the last time I used it, must be like 20 years ago at this point. All the cans have tabs on them nowadays

wow you save like 5 seconds, how many fucking cans do you open in a day for that to significantly affect your life in any way? This is like people passing on the highway only to turn off a bit later. wow, you saved like a whole 20 seconds, way to go!

No one taught me how to use one. Doesn't take a genus to figure out that you have to somehow get the sharp circular blade against the can.

When I was playing Factorio it took me like 10 minutes to figure out how pumps work, and I immediately thought of this webm while I was struggling.

It doesn't. Just like how having basic mechanics on my can opener doesn't cause me to have an autistic breakdown on /v/.
It works, it's easier and it's faster, and this angers you for some reason.

ive always felt like that video pairs really well with this ponderous song invoking a sense of exploring uncharted territory. perhaps an individual discovering lost ancient technology?

The first time I used a can opener I studied it for a few seconds and knew exactly how it worked, sad that gen tard can't figure it out, probably because they were raised on canned food

Not being taught how to do/use something is not a problem or the problem. Being a genuine dipshit who purposefully doesn't learn (boomers) is the problem. It doesn't matter how many times you teach or tell them how to use technology, they willingly don't remember or care. That is the problem. A kid not knowing how to use a can opener when they've never done so isn't a problem but a teaching moment. Though I suppose them not being able to intuit it is also a problem.

It genuinely depresses me that there's an entire generation that got dickall for parenting and were basically just an entertaining pet. It's not a "tee hee hee was too busy being in his phone amirite?" moment on display here, it's a simple failing of actually teaching and guiding the next generation. Simple necessities like cooking, cleaning, self care, common sense probably would've died out if you couldn't search that stuff up.

Boomers suck at explaining how to do anything with your hands and get mad and give up when kids don’t get it right immediately. Bad teachers lead to bad students.

It's a fucking can opener. If you can't figure it out in 5 seconds you genuinely might be clinically retarded. And I'm saying this as a zoomer (I think I'm not actually sure what the cutoff is nor care enough to check)

As soon as games stopped being designed around the philosophy that informed predatory arcades trying to Jew you out of as many quarters as possible.
