P.A.M.E.L.A. is a beautiful and atmospheric utopian sci-fi survival roguelike crafting base-building horror game with dark twists, NPC factions and a waifu. It's a rare gem that's not heavily combat focused like Prey or Dead Space.
Unfortunately, it's unfinished since the scumbag devs ran with the money. P.A.M.E.L.A. is poorly optimized, has the worst AI pathfinding you'll ever see, building is janky, the final huge area is unfinished, including missing textures, music and voicelines, hazard variety is limited, the intriguing plot ends suddenly and unsatisfyingly.
Despite this there are still people on the steam forums even to this day lamenting how they pissed away such a great concept and game. Real shame, since it was a unique experience I still think back on from time to time.
At this point the game should be open sourced to give it a much deserved second life. If you're interested, pirate it instead of buying.
>>716484180 (OP)sounds interesting but try to cut down on the buzzwords next time. And the steam reviews say the game is abandoned and hasn't had updates for years

>>716484715All the buzzwords are actually true. The game has so much in it and is truly unique.
And yeah, I stated that it's unfinished and has tons of downsides due to that. It's really for those who like the rare utopian survival sci-fi games like me and can deal with the jank.
Unfortunately I refuse to play Atomic Heart because of Denuvo, but that's probably the closest game thematically to P.A.M.E.L.A.
>>716485134does this ever go on sale? I'll try it for $10 but not for the current price of $30

>>716485731No, never. It's abandoned.
Pirating it is the morally correct choice.
>>716485731I doubt the steam page is being managed by anyone.
It actually shows 23€ for me, but there is no point giving them any money. I'm not sure if there is even anyone on the other end to receive the income from steam.

There was a complete moron streamer who played this game and got stuck in the tutorial mission and area for like 10 hours, because he took the wrong stairs and refused to follow Pamela's instruction & direction indicator. It was suffering...
>>716490241No, it's spooky exploration and jumpscares. It's also a survival game, so having some inventory management is not out of ordinary.
Once you get a hideout going and inventory upgraded, looting becomes more of a targeted affair.
Nobody ever called this game an asset flip, but if it is one, then it's an asset flip masterclass.
Setting and environment art/design looks cool. Shame about the gameplay though.
>>716493496Solid sound direction too.
>Shame about the gameplay though.Whats wrong with it?
I remember this game. It was really interesting. Shame it was unfinished.
>>716496773It's not strictly unfinished it's more that it was shoved out the door undercooked and then abandoned. The devs are scattered to the winds now.
>>716497459I've checked some of devs and it seems like the actual coders just vanished.
I can see the game's development being inefficient and mismanaged, considering the amount of years it was in development.
Rushing out a minimum viable product is never a good idea, but I can see how they had no choice. Just another reason to open source unfinished games after a period of time.
>>716484180 (OP)Want real hidden kino? Try Hellion
I was under the impression that this was eurojank.
Turns out, it was just a bunch of lazy canacucks.
>>716501839Damn, that's something right up to my alley!
But...
>multiplayer>Hellion Rescue Project will not work on pirated versionsAAARRRGH
I wish games were stop being killed this way.
