>new Somnium Files game dropped
>no threads or discussions
>no hype at all
What the fuck happened?
it's a short spinoff with no branching paths, no murder mystery and no trademark twist
I don't got a dollar till next week so won't be playing till then
>>716486652You finished already? The game's that short?
>>716487189took me 12 hours according to steam
Second one was so badly translated that i thought i was having a stroke before dropping it like an hour in, didn't even try to play hundred line, wp spike
The game is an overpriced fandisk, from everything I have gathered. I will wait for a sale
I don't really have any good memories of the first game.
>Date was pretty cool in how relatable he was but 99% of the rest of the cast were shallow stocks you can find in any shounen
>the story is completely unremarkable, to the point where I struggle to even recall the steps up to the ending, and the last twist was kinda lame
>the central core of the gameplay, the puzzle solving, felt unfinished and in-universe it felt like you were "cheating", the action stuff felt like pointless filler
>most of the branches felt like a complete waste of time, and you could usually tell incredibly quickly that you were on the "bad path" but you had to sit through it
>I don't remember a single track from the OST
>the cover promised a very unique visual style which wasn't delivered at all as the entire game looked like the same 3D anime slop you can find everywhere else
Then there was a pseudo-sequel featuring the little girl as the protagonist (by far the worst characters in the first game) which I didn't play and now there's this that I probably won't play either. The Somnium Files isn't great.
>>716486652i can deal with that if they also remove the dance ending as well
I just don't care lmao it's clearly not even a proper game, looks like some fanservice shit.
And anyway for me it all ended with the secret (true?) ending in the second game. I mean it's all just ridiculous, hate it when the japanese mix dark and serious settings with shit humor (porno mags) and superpowers (Mitzuki)... I'd rather none of it was real from the start. Not to mention the fucking flying moped from the other ending, I was fucking furious. It was worse than the fucking dancing.
AI1 was kinda endearing. AI2 was hella cringe since it doubled down but also really didn't say much, the story twist added ABSOLUTELY fucking nothing except a reasoning for the murder mystery and the meta twist was fucking AWFUL. So I don't really see the need to try this one if it's just trying to be AI2 but no twists.
I kinda hoped the sequel would aknowledge Date getting together with what-was-her-name, but i hear they never did.
Kinda disappointed.
>>716486571 (OP)So sad the NyanCave is just a shadow of what they were. Their play through of Somnium Files was great for having running on the side.
>>716486652>>716487545How long is the first agme?
>>716486571 (OP)Is big-titted receptionist in the game?
>>716504096Steam says I have 25 hours on AI1 and 35 on AI2. I listen to voices in full though, I guess if you speed read then the games are quite a bit shorter.
>>716486571 (OP)The game is alright. It's short but it's meant to be that way. What I can say is that it's a "filler episode" game that kind of bridges the gap between ai1 and aini.
The second game felt like a fanfic that parodies and exaggerates characters from the first. I played it for an hour and refunded. I have no faith a spin off would do anything better,
Was absolutely baffled when this poped up in the queue yesterday.
For those who HAVE played it, how is the gameplay? I liked the puzzle rooms for the first game, but I never played AI 2.
