This man more or less put video games on the map after Miyamoto made the basic frame work. Why doesn't he get the recognition he deserves? Even IGN said he's one of the most important creators in gamgin history, and a back bone of Capcom's success.

I suspect Inafune found some leftover kickstarter money and is using it to pay people to desperately salvage his reputation

Probably as >>716505682 pointed out
Fantasy Life i is doing well and a lot of the press around it is the massive delay Level 5 had to do after he basically torched the place and ran.
It's probably just a charm offensive to at least rehab his image untli some Chinese company like Netease looking to fluff up their own image grabs him so they can say they got some prestigious international talent, so he can at least collect some producer paychecks for a retirement nest egg.

I doubt Inafune has much money for social media offensives. He has next to no social media presense at all.

>Fantasy Life i is doing well and a lot of the press around it is the massive delay Level 5 had to do after he basically torched the place and ran.

I think he was fired. Japanese don't like drama and tend to avoid it, so they delayed having to talk about it as much as possible, and then saying "oh btw, he left, anyways the game was shit and it needed a total reworking...". Which implies that the game was being delayed multiple times, it was not testing well, and L5 just had enough so they fired him.

Remmeber, Inafune joined L5 under the guise of this being some kind of legendary partnership, and the first game Inafune and Comcept put out was some shitty Dragons and Colonies game that was mired in poor reviews and low sales so it was canned.

How can Inafune be in gaming since 1987, yet know fuck all about how to run a project to develop a game? My only explanation is that Capcom had so much talent and so many quality people, Inafune could just wave his hands, say "make a zombie game' or "make a roman game" or "make a samurai game", and it'd be this 9/10 masterpiece and inafune just thought that's how it's normally done. So he just waves his hands at Comcept, and then Inti-creates or whatever shit out some turd years later and it bombs.
