Close, the villain was some Extinction Entity demon created to extinguish humanity but the protagonist hugs her so she decides not to kill everyone after baiting the player "you have the choice to kill her to save humanity, or let humanity go extinct and stay with her"

DS1 had the better story, but OTB executed its story much more effectively. At a bare minimum Lucys Mail should have been voiced in DS1, but a fair few others should have been too.
