What are your thoughts on horror games past and present?

Most horror games are not scary
I can count on one hand games that are actually scary

Pretty good from the mid 90s to the late 00s, hits a rough patch around the early/mid 10s, and has been more or less back on track since the late 10s.

Also, Fatal Frame 1 & 3 are better than 2.

If an horror game has to rely on jumpscares, then it's a shit horror game.
