Do you ever think there's just too much vidya cloggering culture? That back in the day, say 80s and 90s when vidya was in its golden age, the selection of franchises and titles was comprised of classic, endearing franchises that once ruled the vidya realm. Some are still with us, some still close to their origins, others unrecognizable, but... don't you miss the times when they really were the new hot thing? How the future seemed so great for video games, and culture in general?
Don't get me wrong good games are still coming out and that's a good thing, we still can play the old games so there's no better time than today to enjoy vidya - that's for sure.
But still, there's something romantic about this lost world where many of the things that video game fans hate about the industry didn't even exist yet, where most of the really popular games were acrually really good, and you didn't have to scourge for hidden indie gems to find something decent.
A time when Sonic was mysterious and cool, and not immediately associated with cringe internet fandom and failed games.
There was a time..
