Why are Demon's Souls bosses so cool? The other souls games don't have the charm of the original boss list.

The thing about these bosses is that you meet them after a long journey, while in Elden Ring they just throw bosses at you all the time. So the bosses in Demon's Souls feel more impactful

They are kinda puzzle bosses, with each having their own gimmick. After DS1, they listened to the fans and got into a gimmick. People just wanted big boss arenas with some big guy to have epic fights. That's why they got so samey.

Demon's Souls actually feels fresh and exciting after you've played the other ones. But most "souls" players are only going to see it as proto-souls, and find it dull, boring, because it's not roll-souls that they want.

Roll-Souls is extremely formulaic and you can pretty much write the story, build the levels, create the boss fights, in your head.
