We used to call those "Party Games" because this kind of game is a social games, intended to be played with others.
Nintendo used to talk down to Sony fans pointing at Playstation's single-player games, otaku games that you played by your lonesome in the dark, contrasted with the Party Games with the Nintendo Seal of Quality.
Somewhat related, JP Gacha developers hijacked the phrase 'social game' to refer to gacha despite gacha having no social components.
