Whenever you see how pathetic the industry is on all fronts nowadays, just install and boot a good game aka pre 2012 at the latest. See the chinese girl game struggle with performance while looking like your average UE5 slop? Install Crysis (2007 ofc) and start a New Game. Have fun and go about your day afterwards. See Homeworld 3's infamous cinematic? Just install Age of Mythology (2002 ofc) and go after those krakens. Simple as. Just ignore the shitfest.

The industry is so fucking dog shit that people are actually looking towards Chinese slop now.
>Western DEI slop
>Japanese catering to Western audience slop
>Generic Korean MMO slop
>Chinese no identity slop

Don't forget that every slop release is bloated to hell. Bloat used to be = MMO, now even a random single player asks 80+ hours of your time. You get burned out before reaching the middle, it's insane. They even bloated the SH2 remake, fucking hell.

All the games are being outsourced to chinks or/and pajeets or/and AI. Reason why they all look the same, play the same, look like shit and, on top of all this, perform like shit.
A game being made by a Chinese company does not change the above facts.

I only played Crysis at last once 3 was nearing. Cool experience. Prior I'd only seen a playthrough by a 50+ gamer who ran his own business. Good times.
>Crysis 4
Not sure if that's still happening but if it is at least consoles can handle big open world nowadays. Maybe someone other than Crytek will make it, even.

Instead of spending money on new games I spent it on getting a fancy 4k oled which is used for vidya in a manner similar to what OP posits.

the problem is "the industry" releasing buggy unfixed shit on day one and fixing bugs after 2-3 years post-release, while selling dlcs

Crysis isn't very fun, and it visually looks like a 2015 game.
