>>716530261If you're aiming for "realism" though, then you have a problem anyway when you start talking about "all headshots should be fatal even close range", because that's literally not the case. The chance of fatality of being shot in the brain close-range is nearly 100%, but the head is not composed of a brain and nothing else, and it's possible to get shot in the brain and not die immediately, to suffer impairation but not death, and in really rare cases to even come out of it relatively unfucked. This is largely due to the fact that bullets tend to break apart on impact, and not just plow through like a cannonball. A shotgun point-blank is probably one of the few cases it actually should be 99% instantly lethal.
Imagine wanting realism, and not implimenting skull graze mechanics. Your game is instantly shit.
