>>716531228 It means there's a fucking computer in the cable to do the job to create the component signals for some bizarre reason.

>>716528916 (OP) nintendont for enhanced gc games mods for gamecube and wii games 240p emulators galaxy1/2, re4wii, mkwii, wii sports, nmh, etc online fan servers wii’s my used console behind the ps2
>>716531519 for a console that goes for like $15-30 (with a broken disc drive) there's a LOT of games to play on it. it's like one of the best deals in gaming right now.
I grabbed one from a thrift store and I'm planning on either going the normal route and putting homebrew channel on it or being a silly lil goober and making it a linux system.
>want to get wii mote for emulation on pc >still around $40-$60 to get the sensor+controllers and nunchucks >switch joycons are meh with gyro on pc does anyone have like a good guide to improve the joycons on pc for wii emulation? I have been trying to replay mario galaxy with the joycons with bluetooth and it can really be inaccurate at times
>>716528916 (OP) The better question is, why would someone buy a Wii instead of Wii U? Wii U literally has built in Wii and you can apply Wii hacks like Homebrew Channel and Nintendont, so you can play Gamecube games too
Wii U has some nice extras aside from playing its game library, like DS emulation. You can add more DS games thanks to Wii U Virtual Console Injector.
>>716536178 the wii sold better, so it's easier to find them for dirt cheap.

>>716536178 I hacked my Wii U earlier this year and its been awesome. The only caveat that I'm sure someone else will bring up is that wii/gcn output is a little washed out. It doesn't bother me though. The convenience of HDMI is worth it in my case as I don't own any CRTs. Its a really nice way to play Chrono Trigger DS
>>716536178 The WiiU loading is really slow and requires the gamepad to boot up and I fucking hate the gamepad. It's bulky and requires a second plug. Also WiiU is not as sleek looking as the Wii. It's fatter, greasier, and a dust magnet because it uses the worst plastic on the planet. There's really nothing exclusive that isn't already on the Switch. And if I wanted to play DS games I can just buy a DS lite for like $30 on ebay.

>>716536178 The Wii can do 240p, lowest the Wii U goes is 480i.

>>716536823 Perfectly fine reason. The added benefit of DS support is great too, though I personally prefer using an actual DS. >I'm sure someone else will bring up is that wii/gcn output is a little washed out Definitely depends on the person. For me, it's a big enough reason to keep my Wii + CRT setup with component cables.

>>716536178 requires tablet gamepad to function pretty much. im not charging that shit so often because nintendo cheaped out on battery. with wii you can just throw in some AAs and you're off to the races.
