Console gaming is super simple:
>put CD on
>turn on console
>console does not turn on
>buy specialized screwdrivers from china to open the console
>the tools break on the first proprietary screw
>buy specialized screwdrivers from germany
>now they work but you're put on some sort of list
>Open the console (voiding the warranty and getting you in another list)
>replace all caps
>still does not turn on
>try to redo the traces
>they're far too gone, so redo the entire PCB layout in a CAD project
>order new board from PCBWAY (tm)
>resolder every component that survived to one of the several boards (because you can't buy just one)
>buy the ones that didn't from the shady chinese market
>the chips are not 100% compatible
>dump the ROMs
>have to slightly modify the ROM code, including the insane 5 way opcodes from the SCU
>ROMS don't work
>have to wait 4 hours to the UV machine to erase the data
>Try again 3 more times until it boot
>TV can't deal with 480i/240p and add a fucking second of input delay
>Buy a tube TV because it's cheaper than a retrotink shit
>Spend 30 minutes adjusting the contrast/brightess/sharpness control
>spend 2 hours fucking around with the HUE, because NTSC does not have definive colors
>play game
Meanwhile on PC is just
>buy all components
>assemble all the components
>install windows
>install drivers, directX and MSVC
>download game source
>download and set up all the libraries on the MSVC project folder
>compile game from source
>fix all the bugs in the game
>update C compiler
>finally build game
>run game

Consoles are better because you can repair it, PC however is disposable plastic garbage.

Looking at it, it's probably more fun to go thru this scenario than actually playing a modern game

This literally never happened to me. My PS1 and PS2 still work to this day.
