I put a lot of hours into Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword.
Horribly buggy and broken but once patched it can be pretty fun.
I Learned a lot about 17th century Eastern Europe
Then there are the countless historical mods that do the same thing for regular Mount & Blade.
