Because piracy on the 3DS was basically as perfect as the PSP so everyone wanted one as an emulation machine.

I tried to warn all of you in 2018. Fuck yall I got a new 3dsxl, new 3ds smol, new 2ds limited edition metal slime. I will probably never play them but whenever I get fired or retire I will finally have all the time

Yeah I'm a dumbass for not getting a few myself. There's so many DS and 3DS games that I want to play I think I'm just going to shell out for a New 3ds XL.

no clue, i got a 3ds xl when it came out, hacked it, and never looked at the prices or new models ever again

between that and the ds-lite with a flash cart, they were the perfect pokemon machines. i didn't really play other shit, but they were quite popular from what i remember

if you spend a sunday afternoon to put homebrew on it, and if you actually play it, it's easily very worth the investment. I only put homebrew on the XL I have and haven't opened the slime one yet but since I did that the process has become way easier as well. japanese are actually really good about keeping things in good quality too so you could either get a mint unopened limited edition or basically any special edition you want in a good condition if you ebay from japan.

I actually saw a few slime ones complete in box for a decent price. Half tempted to get one honestly. I assume it's fairly easy to mod a Japanese 3DS into English right? I missed out on the whole modding scene since my 3DS died ages ago and I never bothered to replace it.

that ain't me, but yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. he used to post on /v/ all the time with his collection of like every 3ds I don't know if he even plays them or just plans to scalp them because of threads like these. Citra is still a good alternative but the smol ones are pretty good portables. Then there's the weird axe ones without the clam shell design. It was a solid ass portable with a nice library.

zoomers want their DS nostalgia and are too stupid to understand the 3DS is inferior for playing DS games compared to the DSi XL since the DSi XL has a pixel perfect larger screen whereas DS games will be much smaller when pixel perfect on the 3DS screen.

like who the fuck thought this was a good idea? I don't think I ever saw one IRL. and honestly you don't need the "new" 3ds since it only had like 4 exclusives or something weird. I should look it up I don't think the different processor affects anything really. 3ds autists please inform me if you are aware of otherwise.
