>>717033430It only came out yesterday so people are still learning the meta and kinks. Being built of Pathfinder2e, it is far more balanced and meant to be fully compatible with that game, but they purposely postponed doing any of the "big" systems that they fucked the first time. So no advanced hacking, no tactical starship combat, no mechs. Since Starfinder is handled by a separate team compared to Pathfinder, they still need to prove themselves on such, so we just don't know.
>Also do they have a front-line caster class?Yes and no? 2e casters are far less potent compared to any other system past or present. Plus a "frontline" in Starfinder isn't really a thing just because....everyone is packing heat, guns and lasers are just standard. But not only the base Starfinder2e casters, the Mystic and Witchwarper, are bulkier to the standard 2e on, they are currently regarded as just 2 of the best casters in the system so far, next to Animist and Witch.
There are melee gishes in the 2e -Finder games like Magus, Animist, and Warpriest Cleric. Warpriest is very much a frontliner support. But they aren't going to be super powerful or Protagonist Syndrome-prone. You gotta experiment and learn the kinks of the games before you can expect to just win since gishes are very much big targets of the nerf bat.
