Mascot platformers is such a stupid and shitty term since not every mascot is a platformer and not every company depends on one mascot. Nintendo has a collection of mascots they constantly advertise and put on the front page, splatoon and zelda is promoted as much as Mario here in japan. Pac-Man’s world games was a one off by a outsourced studio and is essentially a maze game.
