The games largely boil down the show to just the conflicts. The reason you like the anime is not just the fighting but the characters themselves interacting in that world and how they tackle adversities. With a vidya adaptation you get an interior version of the show and unless they go absolutely insane with the gameplay you will have inferior conflicts because the build up is lost in translation in the games presentation. So you just end up with a worse retelling of a show with gameplay that's mediocre to the visually stunning fights and camerawork of what you saw in your anime.

Ok so you solved one half of the problem with a new story, But, unless you get the writer for the anime to write this scenario it will be an inferior work, do you hire the composer to write new tracks as well? If this was say an AoT game would a studio hire Sawano to do their OST?And you still have the issue of gameplay, it will never have that cinematic feel unless you want your game to be press x for flashy finishers and special moves.
