Yeah, it's supposed to work better because it doesn't have to deal with bloatware shitdows. I unfortunately never learned any linux distros so i'll deal with win 10 for now and slowly start getting into Arch linux, so hopefully in a year or so, I can also escape the digital Jew.

Depends. Almost every Steam game running through Proton runs just fine. Multiplayer games that use kernel-level anticheat don't and probably won't anytime soon. Setting up more obscure stuff through Wine is pretty hit & miss.
