This might be the biggest discrepancy I've seen in a sandbox game or a mission based game in general.

I think JC2 is a fun game too, so what the heck happened? I'm trying to think of a comparison as crazy, like playing Vice City, unlocking the second island, then refusing to play story missions.

Just Cause 2 is one of the biggest shopping cart fillers there is. Almost everyone who owns it only owns because it was being sold for a buck and they bought it with a bunch of other stuff or they got it in a giveaway from a youtuber with 167 subscribers.

The open world was considered one of the largest of all time and exploring around it and blowing shit up was vastly more interesting than whatever story the game had.

This seems like a completely normal dropoff rate? 20% is around what I see for most VNs that have completion achievements, if anything the only weird part is that so many people completed Mission 2

That's around the time you unlock the grapple hook and parachute in JC3, which is a reasonable time to stop playing the missions and just fuck around now that the world is really open and fun

I don't think people unlocking the second island in gta vc and not doing any more missions is that weird. pretty much my primary motivation for playing the missions in gta was to unlock the islands. I think that would be quite common

I can assure you Mr. Newfag, JC2 had them at launch as it wasn't some GFWL mixed abomination like RE5 or Dark Souls.

Steam users think of owning a game as a woman owns a pair of shoes - a status symbol. So if a fellow "gamer" comes along and asks, "Hey, have you played Just Cause 2?" They can say, "play it, I OWN it!"*
*note that this doesnt answer the question. Hope this helps, OP.

There are only 7 missions in Just Cause 2.

The first mission is the tutorial. It leads into Mission 2 automatically. After finishing Mission 2, the tutorial is done and the world opens up. You can now do 90% of Just Cause 2's fun stuff. Most just buy it to fuck around with.

1. Literally everyone has like three free copies of JC2 from humble bundles, 99-100% sales and other giveaways.
2. Just Cause 2 fucking sucks. It's not a good game. Maybe by console standards.
