Former yes, the latter has never been the case though. Unless you're one of few characters without separate c.L/f.Ls, so you can 5L into autocombo from f.L range, you're leaving a lot of damage on the table doing that instead of linking c.L c.H or something.

I see very few raging chains in combos in general these days too. Not sure if the scaling it adds got nerfed at some point or people just figured out saving crystals for BC was more worthwhile (even post BC nerf).

66L got nerfed twice (longer whiff recovery, farther pushback on block, worse combo scaling as a starter) and raging chain now scales your combo harder and has harsher meter gain nerfs. 66L is still important and plus on block of course but it's less rewarding and riskier (you can usually punish it on spotdodge for example)

Relink was absolute garbage so it seems pretty fair, in fact.
GBFVS is not some outstanding gem, but it does its job very decently and with a spin of its own.
Relink is just a worse version of existing games with a disappointing storyline attached on top which is over in the blink of an eye and serves only to wank some literal who discardable character with the charisma of a FF protagonist.

This game doesn't have a burst mechanic, you eat the full combo. The main weakness of RSRC is that it uses a brave point, which you have a finite amount of (you gain one for using a super but otherwise you only get 3 per round) and which you can lose being hit by an SBA (or 2 for SSBA) or for trying to block an opponent's rising strike. You also take more damage the fewer BP you have, up to 50% more damage at 0 BP. If you go for RSRC multiple times early into a round it might get you killed by a wakeup super you'd otherwise survive
