Didn't like it. Tutorials are effectively useless as it was spamming me repeated instances of the same text box while not covering any of the concepts I might want to know such as "why are my guys not able to attack right now", or "what do the various unit info things mean"? The battles themselves are also a total clusterf*** where I won convincingly but I have no idea how or why I won nor what concepts I was supposed to be learning from each battle. I'm sure some people like this kind of mess and I'm certain there is a coherent logic behind it somewhere but this was not pleasant to play and may as well have been a series of dice rolls with a thin veneer of medieval tactics smeared on top. Wasn't worth the bandwidth I spent in downloading the thing.

you can understand all the concepts of the game by just playing a few battles and skim the manual for the rest
I've played through tons of campaigns in FoG2 and FoG2 Medieval and have never touched the tutorials or played tabletop

At that point you may as well go play tabletop strategy games

It was free for a week on steam and people are sperging out about the tutorial because they are incapable of looking up a video on youtube or read the manual. They also can't comprehend that terrain has a huge impact on the combat for certain unit types and then are assblasted when their heavy knights get wrecked by medium infantry on forest or river tiles.

That's one of the main points of FoG I think. You can play a tabletop game without having to spend the time or money for a physical army.
