Did the elephant kill the fun of the game for anyone else?

After you get the elephant form the game literally becomes a hold RT simulator.

Not for me, I don't think I used the elephant to explore the levels for bananas and fossils. After I collected everything in an area though, I just liked being able to destroy the environment by any means necessary. Elephant is fun but I also like switching to Kong Bananza when I want the feel of punching terrain directly.
