Couldn't get invested in the second one at all (because fuck verisimilitude and putting effort into telling a story, so just be lazy instead and lather everything in 50 layers of irony), and so far as I'm concerned, DR 1 is the only game of the series.
Either treat your story seriously, or fuck off. It's the same reason why "the only good" Phoenix Wright game is the first one, and the quality rapidly declines with each title.
