Some mechanics are just insufferable to deal with. Grinding the same boring activity to get to a required level, for example. It stops you from doing what you actually picked up the game to do.

You cheat to overcome unfun game mechanics, like time wasters. Or if the game isn't fun and you want to see the ending quicker, then you freeze RAM addresses holding your HP, MP and ammo values, and breeze through the game.

Forcing yourself to play "as the devs intended" is nonsense and if do that, you have an unhealthy problem with your pride and self-esteem.

Second best thing about using savestates is knowing that it upsets dumb frogposters like OP. Best thing about them is that it lets me beat clunky old games faster without them annoying me too much.

I unironically do this. I used to play games on normal first and then hard when i was a student

ive grown much older and dont have the time anymore. I usually cheat once i am done with 70% of the game and i want to see the rest of it without going out of my way to do quests to get some gear that might make it easier and so on
