when I was growing up there was an old Neo Geo cabinet close by that had King of Monsters and Ninja Combat. I dunno how they stack up to other arcade games, but they were pretty fun here and there.

I've been playing Black Tiger recently and it's pretty fun. Finally beat the first level and the dragon boss was easy compared to the stone heads that just randomly do the long leaps. Got my game over at the flying demon guy that shot arrows that turned into lingering fires. Highly recommend this game if you want an action platformer.

I love arcade games like Half-Life 2.

While my favorite arcade game is likely DDR 3rd mix from the sheer amount of money young thin me spent on it, I remember playing this in an arcade in LA next to a place I used to get the best cold Korean spicy noodles from. Obviously, we'll never seen mainstream companies make anything like this ever again.
Maybe I should see if I can emulate it?

Sengoku 3 is bretty fun
Shippu Mahou Daisakusen just has a really interesting premise even if the execution is somewhat sloppy(it's an in-universe race where the winner gets a wish granted, the further up the screen you are the "faster" you go and your fellow racers are either ahead of or behind you and actually on-screen if you're near them)

that said most of my arcade experience was with beat-em-ups like X-Men or Sunset Riders
however I did learn from a friend about Magical Drop 2 and so I eventually really got into 3 on MAME lol

I love side scrolling action platform arcade games.
Wardner, Ghouls n Ghosts, Black Tiger, Elevator Action Returns etc.

Data East eat a lot of shit but their arcade games are absolutely brilliant.

I managed to 1cc that. Some of the revisions are easier than others, and there are some safe spots you can exploit in order to not take damage during boss fights.
I really enjoyed that one.

Just your typical arcade beat-em-up otherwise, but holy fuck is some of the music in this game way better than it has any right to be (Stage 3, 5 and both parts of Stage 6 are my favourite).
