Compare it to Black Mesa. Both are fan games, only Black Mesa respected the source material and was made by people who knew what they were doing. Did they take a few artistic liberties and in some ways fuck up a little? Yeah, but the end result was good anyway.
Hunt Down the Freeman was a pile of shit made by idiots who had no idea what they were doing, had no respect for the source material, the plot made no sense and Mitchell jumped between being a nice guy and a psycho constantly. Also, most of the remaining HECU are British for no fucking reason, despite it being a fictional American military branch.
