I swear that putting actor face to your 3d model, mocap or whatever its called, is the most LAZIEST move that game dev could ever pulled in their game. Zero creativity, zero imagination, zero artistic vision, its literally just putting some existing actor face to your 3d female body model preset, adjust hair style and color, add some school uniform or relevant costume, and call it a day.
Call those gacha trash a gambling game or whatever but atleast they have better character design compared to AAA slop hacks these days because they draw the character themselves before translating it to 3d model and putting them in the game. What's yer opinion about this chuds?

One of the reasons modern AAA is so shit is because they want videogames to be movies, characters to be actors, gameplay to be "not gamey", etc. Even the sleeziest gachas are better than AAA moviegame slop for normalfags.

There are instances when it bothers me, like KojiPro's stunt cast wankery, but I don't think it matters that much. When has Silent Hill ever had super original character designs outside the monsters? The whole point is that you're an everyman. Harry and James are just guys in jackets. The SH2 remake using a face model for James didn't change that.

Would an artisanal render of a Japanese girl be that different from the Japanese girl they're using to portray the Japanese girl? I doubt it.

I find it way better than western garbage that make their actors way more ugly than their real life looks.

It wasnt about looks or appearance, but the lack of passion and effort. These gamedevs have become more and more lazier each days, relying on AI generated frame, dont bother to improve their games, being too lazy to compress their soundfiles resulting in gorillion size vidya, putting cardboard cut out for their design, mocap for their animation, all in the name of film-like presentation while at the same time setting up this lazy laidback work ethic example to other gamedevs so that other devs would follow them up and keep making goyslop for players. This is a disease in industry, soon you wont have a single good game to play because this stupid laidback culture that devs impose to each other
