And even then Devil May Cry's best games were not even made by Hideki Kamiya. Many people consider Itsuno the real Devil May Cry guy. Since he evolved the gameplay a lot and made it shine. Doesn't help that Hideki Kamiya's style of doing things is "I'm a celebrity like Hideo Kojima I only make one game and don't you dare boss me around about making a sequel!" It's fucking great. Shmup nerds don't like the fact that it's too long for a shmup (an entire one hour from start to finish) and the gimmicky swiveling mechanic and forms for the base ships. But I love the length and the gimmicks. the level designs and enemy placements were very well done and I can tell Kamiya really has a love for shmups
